Pattani is the one of places where is full of valuable Malaya culture. The ruins of building remain until present time and the shells of ancient building illustrate ethnic of the people there. Every ancient place in Pattani still maintains the ruins of diversity culture of many races. It shows us how great of Malaya Kingdom at that era. From a long-established building and many evidences of previous generation, the coming generation can proudly visit and study through those ancient places. Krueseh and Datok are parts of the significant and priceless places to study and visit.
The first place is a great historic place of Malaya prosperous era; it is Masjid Krueseh (krueseh Mosque). The evidence building of Krueseh put in the picture that the great flourish town is the kingdom of Malaya. The kueseh Mosque was build around 300 years ago. It was stated that build brick made of shell, on the other hand some civilizations had used shell as money or value. Nearby the Krueseh Mosque, the Lim Ko Neow cemetery where is a safe haven of Chinese Buddhist. The Krueseh mosque was building by one Chinese intelligent architect named Lim Tok Kiam, the brother of Lim Ko Neow.
Lim Tok Kiam was a Chinese sailor who came for trading in Pattani. At last he converted to be Muslim and domiciled at Pattani. Because of the clever architect, he was known and became famous. Then, he was ordered to build a great and beautiful mosque. The beautification of this Mosque was renowned to all directions seeing that many statements about the Krueseh in many old memorandums from Dutch, Persian and Indian etc.
The Lim Ko Neow cemetery, the cemetery is still with the krueseh till present time. Lim Ko neow who was sister of Lim Tok Kiam came from a Great China in order to take her brother back as her mother’s commanded. At last her brother, Lim Tok Kiam stood fast on his opinion, he did not want to get back. That line makes Lim Ko Neow petulant and suicide under the cashew nut tree. It is said that before going to suicide, she had cursed hoping the Krueseh Mosque will be not complete. If one has chance to come visiting the Krueseh Mosque, absolutely there is no roof of the Mosque. Actually, it is an unsubstantiated legend and the Mosque was completely built. Because of the war with Siam, Ayothaya, the Mosque was damaged as in many memorandums and it seems uncompleted construction. The real carcass of Lim Ko Neow is not where it is now, it is in the sea nearby. There is stone cemetery of Lim ko Neow where you can vacation.
Datok village is located in M.4 lampho Yaring Pattani where the figure of region likes a cape, the ground set out into the sea. Datok maintains two prehistoric places, Tok pajang cemetery and Masjeed Datok. The Tok pajang cemetery, it is said that Tok pajang was Ku pa’ sah from Sumatra. He went to make business about gold and copper and at that epoch of Pattani government did not allow anybody to bring the copper from Pattani in afraid of insufficient copper to make gunner. At last, Ku pa’sah and his servant, Abdul mu’min were arrested and sentenced to be executed. Their bodies were thrown down the Parek River and appeared at Datok Township. The amazing thing was stated in the legend is that their bodies would opposite with the tide. After that, one day, one fishing man went to the sea to fishery but there was no any fish, so he gleaned the stone from the sea for his children. While collected the stone, he could not stand the bad smell of carcass. Because of government prohibition in keeping those bodies, there was no one would make dealing with those bodies. With sympathy, he kept carcass of Ku pa’sah into the cemetery. Then, another miracle thing of Ku pa’sah that is while interring, the body became longer. The people had to renew digging in many time, until one of them took of ornament from his body then, then body completely interring cemetery. Not that beside miracles, at last the fishing man got back and saw gleaned-stone becoming gold.
According to Muslim, every miracle and amazing things would completely appear on the prophet of God only. It has been the big problem for Muslims here related the holy power of Tok Pajang cemetery. Many muslim from local people and others have come to make a wish with this cemetery. It has been extensively rumors that make wish at Tok Pajang cemetery, it will be truth particular the patiences. At here, one can see many sheep to offer as sacrifice for many wishes. Completely it is a huge shirk thing
These great places of Malaya History have maintained just a few years ago and those were unnoticed. By the way, at this moment one can ascertain the history through these places. Even though these places have different belief and tradition, there maintain of multiplicity till present time similar to The Krueseh Mosque and Lim Ko neow cemetery. The krueseh Mosque and Datok village still have attractive history of Malaya Kingdom.
